Joint conference, co-organised by the Tribunal de Contas and the European Court of Auditors, on European Funds: Management, Control and Accountability
The Portuguese Court of Auditors and the European Court of Auditors meet in Lisbon on
and
for a joint conference on "European Funds: Management, Control and Accountability". This initiative, which is taking place during the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union, coincides with the beginning of a new EU multiannual financial framework (MFF) and the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
Discussions will focus on the priorities and challenges underlying the
MFF and the
RRP, climate transition and the digital future, the effect of the pandemic on the sustainability of public finances, as well as governance and control models.
Among the participants who have already confirmed they will be attending are
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of the Portuguese Republic,
António Costa, the Portuguese Prime Minister, European Commissioner
Elisa Ferreira, and a number of experts and leading figures from institutions concerned with the topics discussed.
The President of the Portuguese Court of Auditors,
José Tavares, and the President of the European Court of Auditors,
Klaus-Heiner Lehne, co-organisers of this conference, will deliver the opening and closing remarks.
The conference will be organised in a hybrid format, with Portuguese and English simultaneous interpretation. The speakers and very few participants will be on-site in a conference room in Lisbon, whereas all other participants can attend remotely via the
live streaming.
