During the DrupalCon Pittsburgh keynote, Dries dedicated a portion towards an innovation contest called Pitch-burgh.
Scope of work:
Rebuild the assets for the first time contribution WS
Re-imagining the Drupal core mentoring program. I want to rebuild the first-time contributor workshops we present at flagship events and build a program that empowers mentors outside the core mentor group to present and help with mentored contributions at the local and regional camp levels.
This would involve modernizing our existing slide deck for DrupalCon, making it more accessible, and creating a more interactive workshop versus straight content delivery. I will also provide scripting and knowledge-based docs around the slide decks so any mentor can use the assets to present the workshop at their local or regional event.
Build a presentation around best practices for organizations starting with contributions (Issue Queue Etiquette)
I want to build a presentation for organizations/agencies/partners starting in contributions, highlighting issue queue etiquette and appropriate first tasks for beginners and when to move past novice issues. It also highlights some dos and don'ts around adding files, submitting patches, and merge requests.
Special Thanks
Thanks Lee Walker at Code Journeymen and Jonathan at Daggerhart Lab for helping with the $3,000 (the additional funds needed to fully fund the "Contributing and mentoring the mentor" project).
