Serving as an educational hub, their website provides essential resources, including insights into funding opportunities and detailed information about their research initiatives.
Wadsworth Center wanted a seamless upgrade from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10 without disrupting user logins or altering the site’s familiar look. They aimed to simplify content management by streamlining content types, boosting performance, and enhancing responsiveness while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. They also sought a seamless migration process with custom features and improved search functionality to elevate the overall user experience.

Wadsworth Center’s website was already built on Drupal 7, but they aimed to refresh its design and enhance usability. To achieve this, they decided to upgrade to the more advanced and modern Drupal 10 platform.

The Goal:
Wadsworth Center wanted to upgrade their existing Drupal 7 website to the latest Drupal 10 platform. Along with the upgrade, they sought to enhance the site’s responsiveness across devices and streamline content management by refining the underlying content architecture. This included optimizing how information is organized and accessed, ensuring a more user-friendly experience for visitors and administrators alike.
The Challenge:
Wadsworth Center struggled with managing multiple content types with similar structures, making content creation and modification cumbersome. The goal was to simplify the site’s structure by reducing content types, categorizing and grouping related ones for better organization. Additionally, the migration required custom code, YAML files, and processors to ensure data integrity and precision amid the complexities of the process.
The Process:
Our team strategically consolidated content types to streamline management, enhanced the test catalog feature by enabling CSV file uploads for updates, and refined the search function for better relevance and filtering. These improvements significantly boosted the site's usability, making it easier to find relevant information. We also provided ongoing support post-launch to address any issues, ensuring a smooth migration and positive results.
