Heating FAQs
Here are some of the most often asked questions about heating. Please feel free to contact us if you don’t find your question answered below.
What is a heat pump?
A heat pump is an all-in-one heating and cooling system. Instead of separate systems, like a furnace and an air conditioner, a heat pump can cool your home in the summer and heat your home during the winter.
Should I change the filter for my furnace?
Yes, you should replace the furnace air filters often. Be sure and use the right size for your furnace, and double check they are installed properly. Depending on the amount of system usage, pet dander, hair or fur, dust and other contaminants in the air, Dial Duron Service Co. recommends changing your air filter every 30 to 90 days.
Why should I clean the area around my furnace when I get a repair?
It is important to keep the area around the furnace free of debris, dirt, and any miscellaneous items. Making sure no storage items are in the area will also help keep the equipment more accessible for repairs or an annual inspection.
How do I know that I need a new heater?
If your heater needs frequent repairs, is 15 years or older, or cannot warm your home properly, we advise you replace it. When a heater or HVAC system is older, it can’t operate as effectively and may end up costing you more money than it should.
