Now that I have your attention...
First...
I do plan on eventually finishing Masterpiece:
Some of you may already know it hehe. But when I say 'finishing,' I do mean actually making the fight depicted in the preview. I've only one full-fledged fight emote to my name so far, not counting the spellcasting Pottermotes, but I've got three more in the works, and I hope to make Masterpiece a real masterpiece.
Second...
It occurs to me that after I posted my last journal, a really evil person might randomly post a fav-thank on my profile without any faving actually having taken place, in order to get me to look at their gallery. I stress, though, that not only would this not work, but it'd kill the spirit of a good thing. So, please don't do that
Third...
I see from
my most recent poll that most people are realists. I'm happy to see that there's only one pessimist (aka only one realist who'll admit they're really a pessimist lol), and a good number of optimists.
I am a pragmatist, which means my opinions and arguments are based on what really matters.
"Wouldn't that be a nice house to live in?"
"It looks like it's about to fall apart." "It is, but wouldn't it be nice to live in?"
"Not if it's about to fall apart."Or, "You drive a really ugly car."
"But it gets great mileage." "But it's really ugly."
"But it still gets great mileage."Are the police corrupt or not? Either way, if I hear a violent fight in my neighbor's apartment, I want to be able to call someone to put an end to it. Or if I get shot to death, I want someone investigating my murder lol.
Here's the thing about everyone being realist: If we were all realist, nothing would ever get done. Why vote if your vote doesn't matter? Why get married if you're only going to end up divorced? Why get a degree if you're going to end up with an unrelated job? Why work hard if it won't be rewarded? Why post anything on dA if it's just going to get absorbed by the congealed mass of deviations? Nothing would ever happen, nothing would ever change, nothing would ever get done. That's my beef with realism lol. There's nothing wrong with it on the surface, but it doesn't work as a large-scale worldview.
Please don't ask me how I can possibly be simultaneously Christian and pragmatic lol. Suffice it to say, it works just fine for me.
