A sea of darkness, spreading as far as the eye could see. Above it, a dimmed sky covered with a curtain of dense clouds cast down an endless shadow. In the far distance, a fallen star could be seen floating just above the surface, helplessly rupturing the dark void with its beams of light. Perhaps the star flickered in search for something amidst the darkness. Gazing closer upon it, the shape of a woman would take form… It all felt like a dream.

Commander Jordan Shepard
Born and raised on the outskirts of Mindoir, a farming colony out in the Attican Traverse, Jordan Shepard was an only child to a loving mother and a strict father with a strong military career. Young Shepard would spend most of his time socializing with the neighbourhood kids, while his mother would tend to the house on her own. During shore leave, his father would return to the family and teach Shepard how to become a man, so that he could defend his home while the father was away on duty. The family led a peaceful life among a friendly and hardworking community, but that life came to a sudden end.
One night, a small army of Batarian slavers launched a surprise attack and raided the colony. They rounded up colonists to be either killed or tortured, then set their homes on fire. In an effort to flee to safety, Shepard's family was ambushed by a group of slavers, and young Shepard was told to run away and hide while his parents fended off the enemy. Helpless and afraid, Shepard had
