A Last Hope of Defense

The Thundercats long defeated the forces of evil and created harmony on Third Earth. But evil does not stay gone for long and once more the Thundercats must put aside their hard earned rest and take up the mantel of heroes to protect Third Earth. Their old fort has long since been abandoned and the new central city of Thundera has been whipped out. With his forces spread thin his team scattered across the planet Lion-o retreats back to the Cats-lair and in its crumbling remains climbs to its peak and for what may be his last time release the power of the sword and bellows his war cry. The team must reassemble for their last stand together.

So I really wanted to do this for a long time and to be honest I probably spent more time on this than is healthy only to get impatient and rush it a bit at the end so I may come back and tweak a few things.

This is a sort of re-imagining of the Cats lair as I always felt the original 1980’s version was too clean and neat. Especially as it was built on a shoe string using parts from their crashed ship it should have look a little more well “used” or rough.

I also tried a different interpretation of the signal being cast out not sure what I think but I rushed it a bit which is never a good idea.

The head was massively inspired by [link] and his amazing work and in particular his Java piece which used a massive dragons head as a cave entrance.
