Grey Fox

The Grey Fox was the prompt for Day 25 of the annual Zooly Daily Animal Challenge that lasts throughout July. I couldn't help being seduced by the rich colors of their fur, and had to see whether I could capture that warmth in a drawing. I took liberties with the proportions of this guy to fit him on the stock: I shortened his neck and tail so I could detail his face and paws better.

3.75" X 3", sketched using a Turquoise 6H pencil, inked in with Copic Multiliner sepia, brown, warm and cool grays, and black ink pens, colored with Prismacolor and Faber-Castell pencils on a pre-cut card of medium weight charcoal paper. Oh, and the snow and facial hair are Uniball Signo white gel pen.
