Diamonds in the Rough

So I recently got into Tiger and Bunny, and needless to say, I LOVE IT!
I've finally watched the movies and needless to say, I am extremely excited for season 2!

The night was silent with only the sounds of the wind blowing through the trees, making the leaves flow in the rythm of the air. All seemed peaceful in the little town as not a soul was out at this time in the starry night.

Including a jewelry store that was just about to close for the night.

The shop keeper was whistling as he finished sweeping the store as he was about to turn in, He looked around with a smile.

"Another fine day of work," he said to himself fondly as he looked at the jewelry around him,

"I'm amazed that they haven't been sold out yet."

There were diamond necklaces, rubies, jewel encrusted bracelets and rings in cases at the front and the display cases. All were shining in their glory as the old man looked on in admiration for the jewels he's help sold and care for.

Just as he was about to head to the front with his keys, a thumping sound alarmed him. He quickly turned around to see the source of the sound.

He blinked in confusion, "Huh? What was that noise?" he asked himself as he scanned the store. moving towards the front desk.

He felt a chill down his spine as something quickly moved behind him. He quickly turned around and started to become alarmed.

"Hello!? Is someone here!?" he exclaimed, "The store is about to close, I'm afraid you'll have to come back tomorrow!"

Dead silence filled the room. After a few minutes, the old man sighed in relief and smiled,

"It's probably my imagination," he chuckles to himself, "I'm starting to hear things."

Just as he was about to open the door, a sheathing sound caught his attention, as he turned around, he went wide-eyed and gasped in shock.

The man's scream echoed in the store.

Police sirens roared in the town as they headed to the store. An ambulance was already at the scene and a crowd of people came to see the commotion, the windows of the store were broken and most of necklaces and bracelets were stolen, including the diamonds.
The ambulance were rolling the old man into the truck with an oxygen tank as the police were keeping everyone behind the tape, telling them to stay back as the bystanders ask what happened. As the police came into the store, what they saw horrified them.

"What the Hell!?" one of the policemen exclaimed in shock.

The missing jewelry was now looking like child's play compared to the blood stains on the floor and walls.

"It's like a murder scene in here! What happened!?" the other policeman spoke in a shaking voice.

The first policeman turned his head and began to bark orders at the others, "Search the area thoroughly! Ready your guns if necessary!"

Just as that happened, something large came out of the bushes and roared as it stormed onto the road. It was a car that was speeding away, the policeman's eyes widened as he reached for his walkie talkie.

"We got a run away vehicle with possible suspects of the jewelry store robbery and possible attempted murder! All available units are to report for back up to pursue to vehicle! We have a code ten-eighty on our hands!" he exclaimed.

The police officers scurried into their vehicles and began to chase after the car, the bystanders gasped in shock as they saw the chase. About ten cars left the town as the remaining officers continued to keep the civilians back from the crime scene, while the ambulance closed its doors as the helpless old man was still unconscious as they drove away.

The chase was on as the police went after the white convertible. The car sped faster to avoid the chase, meanwhile the two passengers of the escaping car were panicking.

"Shit! I knew I shouldn't have sped off like that! I should have waited a bit longer till the cops left!" the driver shouted, it was woman's voice with a Metropolitan accent.

"We had no choice," another woman's voice spoke, but was more soft spoken as she was reassuring her partner, "what happened back there has already caused too much attention."
The other woman gritted her teeth, "Yeah, but things aren't looking so good for us at the

moment. If we get caught, we're screwed!"

The other woman smirked, "Not exactly."

She took out a bag and opened it, the driver went wide eyed seeing the diamonds and jewels. Her face lit up in a huge grin, "Oh my God, I love you so much!"

The other woman smiled, until they heard the sirens get closer. A police officer started speaking in the microphone.

"This is the police! Stop Your vehicle and surrender!" he shouted.

The two women looked behind them and exchanged looks, until the driver shouted back.

"SORRY! WE'RE IN A HURRY AND STOPPING FOR YOU ISN'T OUR TOP PRIORITY AT THE MOMENT!" she replied.

The policeman started to become irritated, "FOR THE LAST TIME! STOP YOUR CAR OR WE'LL USE ASSESSIVE FORCE!"

"AND FOR THE LAST TIME, I SAID NO!"

The policeman had finally lost his patience and got out his gun and started to aim for the tires, causing his partner to become alarmed.

"What are you doing!?" he spoke alarmed.

"Stopping those bitches, that's what!" he angrily.

The other officer turned pale, "Are you insane!? An officer can't just open fire on a road chase! You could face a disciplinary hearing if you shoot and end up hitting a civilian or one of your men if they catch up to the perps!"

"There was a crime scene at the store!" the other man roared, "there was blood everywhere and those two are suspects! They probably attacked that man and who knows where that blood came from! They are dangerous and need to be stopped at any cost!" he then had a smirk on his lips.

"And besides, if this goes well, I can get promoted to chief and finally show that bastard Goodwill that the force doesn't need a pathetic softy like him. And the station will finally have a man of action to take over."

With that, he aims his gun and the other officer became horrified.

"No don't!"

He starts firing and the two women became alarmed and their car swerved a bit.

"What the fuck!?" the driver shouted, "What's going on!?"

The other woman looked behind, her eyes widened as she saw the officer pointing a gun at them. She quickly turns to her partner, "He shooting at the tires, and I think we're also the targets, and looks like he's not going to stop till we have a flat tire...or worse."

The driver went silent, then her eyes became enlarged with rage. She unbuckles her seatbelt and reaches the back of her seat as she spoke, "Take the wheel. I'll deal with this bastard!"

"Huh!?" her partner blinked, "Wait you can't! We're on the road and he has a gun!"
As the other woman went to the back as her partner struggled to get to the drivers seat, she looks back at her partner with a smirk as she pulls out a sharp weapon.

"He may have a gun, but I got this bad boy right here," she smiles at her partner, "I got this, don't worry, just keep driving."

After a moment, the other woman's concern look turned into a soft smile, "Alright, you show them what they're dealing with."

The other woman smiled, "I will."

As the other woman took the wheel, the other woman went to the back of the convertible. When the police saw her in full view, they were in complete shock and terror as they saw the woman.

The woman was in her mid twenties and had Magenta hair that went down to her shoulders with her front hair pulled back. She had lilac eyes decorated with red eyeshadow with a back heart underneath her left eye and wore dark blue lipstick.

She wore a multi colored jacket that was yellow on the right side with orange lining on the seems and her sleeve, meanwhile on the left it was a blue with a green lining with a bronze shirt underneath. She wore a dark green shorts with a red lining on top with a pair of knee high earth green flat boots.

But what made the officers look upon the woman in fear, is that in her hands, she was holding a scythe twice her size as she stood at the back of the car, ready to fight.

"Is she crazy!? She'll fall standing there!" the officer chocked.

"Is she holding a scythe!?" the other officer gasped.

The woman spins the scythe while motioning her other hand, telling them to come get her.

"YOU WANT TO SHOOT AT US DO YA!?" she exclaimed, "WELL GO AHEAD! FIRE AWAY! DO YOUR WORST!"

The officers looked at the woman as if she was crazy. Perhaps she was crazy, she intends to use her scythe to fight off bullets? The driving officer grinned.

"Looks like it'll be easy." he cocks his gun and aims at the girl.

The other officer paled once again, "Sir wait!"

The man ignored his partner, he licks his lips as he pulls the trigger.

"Gotcha now!"

The shot was fired, and as the bullet headed towards the girl, she lifts her scythe and the blade began to change. To the officers horror, it transformed into a shield and ricocheted the bullet off of her, and instead hits the window shield of the the officers car.

Both gasped as it shattered their window, and began to scream as they began to swerve off the road. The cars behind them tried to move out of the way and continue to chase the convertible, while the girl moved her weapon out of the way and grinned.

"Bullseye!" she announced proudly.

Her grin faded as the car that was hit got back on the road, and the officer driving was seeing red as he readied his gun once more as he sped up. Meanwhile his poor partner was hanging on for his life.

"Oh fuck! This isn't good!" she cursed to herself.

She had to think fast, the cops were catching up and she and her partner had to escape. She lost track of her mind when the car went over a bump and she almost lost balance, she flayed her arms a bit till she found balance, holding her breath with her eyes wide until she was stable.

"Are you alright!?" her partner asked in concern as she continued driving.
She turns her head and gave her a sheepish grin, giving her the okay gesture, "Yeah! I'm still in one piece!"

Then the idea hit her. She looks down at the mildly bumpy road and saw cracks in them, the construction companies are going to be busy for a while with what she's about to do.
She turned her head, "Listen! Speed up! I have an idea!"

"What!?" the other woman was unsure.

"Trust me! I know how to stop these guys on their tracks for good!" she assured her.
Without question, her partner started speeding up. After all, this wasn't her first time doing something extreme in these circumstances, and is always got them the results they've wanted.

The magenta haired girl looked back at the cars chasing them, and saw the officer looking at her madly. She knew that look meant that he was going to make things bloody, and will take pleasure in it.

"I got you now, bitch!" he hissed as he pointed his gun at her.

She narrowed her eyes and lifted her weapon, the steel became to shape shift again to the horror of the officers and other cars. It was now a giant rake that spread all the way to each side of the road.

She looked at them with a snarl, "YOU WANT US TO EAT THOSE BULLETS, DO YA!? WELL HAVE A TASTE OF THIS! EAT CONCRETE ASSHOLES!"

She slams the rake to the road, which had begun to violently peel the concrete upwards with pieces flying everywhere. The officers screamed as they started losing control of their car as it drove onto the hard dirt, along with the other police cars that crashed into one another, and many fell into the ditch.

Everything became quiet once again, but this time there was more dread in the air as the policemen struggled to get out of their vehicles, groaning and limping from the pain from their sudden accidents.

The officer who chased them stared out into the peeled road in disbelief, which soon turned to anger. His partner became concerned as he saw his partner clench his fists and saw blood dripping from his palms.

"S-sir?" he spoke as he slowly went towards him.

He jumped back when the other officer turned around quickly and roared.

"SEND OUT A WARRANT FOR ARREST FOR THOSE TWO! I WANT THEM IN CUSTODY IN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS AND IN A JAIL CELL! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?"

The other officers nodded and started to get their phones and walkie talkie's. The officer turned to his partner with narrow eyes as he began to order him, "Where does this road lead to!?" he barked.

The young officer was afraid, but answered, "This road mostly leads to the desert, but in about eight hundred miles there's a city."

"...A city?"

"Yes...it's the city of Sternbild."

The officer's eyes widened. Sternbild was where the Next heroes were, and if those two were heading there when the heroes are catching criminals on T.V...the man suddenly smirked.

"That's actually perfect, say do we have the channel that has Hero T.V. by any chance?" he asked.

The other officer blinked in confusion, "We should, why? Do you think they'll be on the next episode of Hero T.V.?"

"I'm betting on it, after all," he turns to his colleague and made him shudder with his grin.

"It's a heroes job to catch criminals...especially Lunatic's."

The officer paled when he mentioned Lunatics name, as he is infamous in their area for killing criminals who commit murder in the most horrific way. He looks on to the half destroyed road and fear filled his heart of what will happen in Sternbild once those two women enter they city.

The two women continued down the road, the magenta haired woman sighed in relief as she rested in the back.

"That was close!" she exclaimed, "that guy was a nutcase! Who shoots at people who weren't even firing anything at them!?"

"My guess is the unhinged kind," her partner simply answered, but had a worried look on her face as she looked at the back to check her partner, "are you okay though?"

The woman grinned at her, "I'm just peachy! And now that the roads completely kaput, we don't have to worry about the cat and mouse chase with the police for a while."

Her partner smiled, "Well you really did a number on that road. Construction can take weeks to repair it, and there will be a lot of angry people who won't be able to travel on there for a while." she chuckles a bit.

Her partner scoffs as she laid down on the backseat, her arms behind her head and her legs crossed, "Ah let them cry and moan about it. I had to do that or else that crazy cop would have killed us..." the woman frowned.

"Besides, we've got bigger fish to fry. And it's in that city."

Her companion nodded in agreement, "That's right. What we're looking for is at the heart of the sanctuary for Next's...Sternbild city..." she turns around to look at her partner, "which is why we should get some rest and-"

Her partner was snoring at the back, her arms and legs flopped on the seat and ground. The woman giggled, "Sweet dreams." she spoke as she turned her head to look at the road as she drove.

Her blue eyes narrowed as she saw the billboard saying, 

"Sternbild three hundred kilometers away".

"..Sternbild...Hopefully we'll find what we're looking for...and that we're not too late."
