Day 5 <3
Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Personally, I love learning about different histories, cultures, etc. And one of my favourites is Mexican culture. The mythos, the food, the clothing, the colour. All so rich and vibrant and fun. While I myself don't celebrate it, Día de los Muertos or The Day of the Dead seems like a such a lovely holiday respecting those who's passed away. Some of my favourite animated movies and shows include Coco, The Book of Life and Maya and the Three (the last two created by Jorge R. Gutierrez I believe).
So I was very inspired for this drawing. While I'm not sure I fully translated it, the beautiful billowing dresses I saw reminded me of jellyfish in a way, so I decided to make this mermaid into one. The colours were very fun. ^^
