This is my very first Magic the Gathering illustration for Lost Caverns of Ixalan.
It was a lot of fun to paint this. I modeled the base of the can and the vials of DNA in Blender and I painted over it. I also enjoyed painting the background and the leaves before blurring it out.
It means a lot to me to get to do a MTG card: I remember when I was a kid loooking at the name of the illustrator at the bottom of the card and now seeing my own name in one of these is such a cool and rewarding feeling, more importantly it is Jurassic Park related, so it is even more meaningful to me.
