Made in Blender and Photoshop. This was created using the tools created by members of Qhimm forum.
- wmx.obj file extracted from FF8 disc using byte addresses found by Maki: forums.qhimm.com/index.php?top…
- Converted to OBJ file by compiling Simo Ollonen's old JavaFX project: github.com/SimoOllonen/wmx2obj… (finding this tool, getting the JavaFX environment set up since it is no longer supported by Oracle, and setting up dependencies to run this properly was the hardest part of this project - thanks Simo!)
- Textures were extracted using TIMViewer: www.romhacking.net/utilities/4… This was a also a slow process as each texture contains 16 tiles and each tile uses a separate CLUT, so there was a matching process. I started preparing a script for this, but local hero MCINDUS on the Qhimm discord had upscaled textures that were already color mapped, so I blasphemously downscaled those back to 256x256. Someday I intend to finish the script that would let me use OG textures, but I don't think anyone can tell at this scale. Thanks MCINDUS!)
