Dude, I'm so Monster High

I don't even know who these people are.

My little sister adores the dolls and watches the show quite often, and that's the extend of my knowledge. I started drawing this because it was her birthday not too long ago, and she got her one millionth doll, and when I looked at the thing it reminded me that I "don't like characters that have the same face, body, or overall shape".
The characters are painfully cheap, while the concept of "monster Barbies" is quite clever, but it's just a tremendous waste of effort to try and be more edgy than the common girl doll when you still portray these demons as a bunch of slender, big-eyed, pretty teen girls. And by making the vampire vegetarian. That's a horrible crime. If you bother to design a vampiric character, don't turn it into a puss, it happens too much on television now.

I also don't think I've ever seen character designs with so much clutter and unnecessary detail; these women are drowning in jewelry, laced/fishnet clothing, and are all wearing high heels by default. What's the point of them being monsters at all, if they all have a (similar) pretty face, luscious eyelashes and full lips.
You can make monsters look girly and appeal to small girls without exaggerating everything, it doesn't always have to be Bratz.
