Susan Juniper Wesley is basically a 1st Wave Feminist who is more like her last born than she is like her first. While she can get assertive, it's always with a touch of discipline and maturity. Basically, she is a cool lady to hang out with. Not that she would do much in terms of socializing these days. Nowadays, she just keeps to herself and her family.
Simon Wesley is not into the whole "social justice" and "rights" thing in the slightest. He's just the guy who married a human rights activist because he loved her, but now has to put up with his highly eccentric and troublesome offspring. In terms of personality, he's just... average.
