Description
Upstream of Upper Falls, Hocking Hills Park - Ohio
The decision to wait until Sunday to go to Hocking Hills was one of the best I could have made--okay, so it was more of a lazy decision couched in logic--because it gave me sunny days with periods of interesting cloudiness. We lunched at the top of Old Man's Cave before making our foray down into one of the more interesting trails in Hocking Hills, with a not-so-quick stop at this small falls just upstream of Upper Falls.
Surviving very slick rocks and my husband taking a short spill down rocks, I got this final parting shot of these unappreciated falls. I really could have used a graduated ND filter on this shot and saved it only through some dodging in the clouds above to get rid of some of the over-exposed clouds. I know that it's a little cheating, but I would never want someone to look at this photo and think that they could get this straight out of the camera. I'd rather be upfront and honest about it.
Despite that, it was a beautiful sight to behold and well worth the very minor "danger" of traversing slippery rocks to get to it!
