Taken at Cleveland Botanical Garden - Cleveland OH - For Orchid Mania 2012, This Side of Paradise

I'm sure that these orchids look familiar, considering I have these particular ones already in my gallery. But it goes to show how different the artist can look at the same thing at different times. In the first photo, I had beautiful diffused lighting to light them up, but sometimes that sort of lighting can make things go flat. I personally like this photo a little bit better, but it's because I like negative space. And with the direct sunlight lighting these flowers up so that I get a nice dark background, well...I do so love getting that effect! (Is that my signature style??) The other isn't less beautiful, it's just beautiful in a different way, though.

Fun fact about orchids: The smallest orchid known is found in South America and its bloom is only half a millimeter long. Wow!
