Lately I've had the chance to shoot some clear blue skies. I'll frame a shot of a landscape and turn my circular polarizer until I have a beautiful cobalt blue sky, and take the shot. Then when I upload the photo and take it into my editor (PSP X2) I can see noise in the sky in the form of waves or rings. So I'll use some different noise reducing tools, but they do not help much. If I attempt to adjust the contrast, that makes it much worse. Also the smudge tool even makes the rings worse, unless I turn the opacity way up and that makes the sky look like smudged crap! I used to think it was my graphics or monitor but I just got a new lapto...
