Meet Mint Squad

You've seen these fabulous faries dish out ticklish punishment in a few of my renders now, but just who are they?

I gave all of them more personality this year and over time, they evolved into their own little characters. I hope you'll enjoy the little backstories.

Christmas is a wonderful thing. A time to be with loved ones, reflect on the year in passing and give gifts and thanks to those we care about most. But have you ever wondered who runs the show? While there are many stories and folktales about the holiday season, it’s time to finally unveil the truth* behind the age-old mystery!

Santa Claus, Father Winter, Jack Frost – There are many names for the mystical entity that is the origin of Christmas cheer. What many don’t know, however, is the fact that the charming, full-bearded lad has long since retired from his administrative position (he may be immortal, but he’s still not getting any younger). While he remains the “mascot” of Christmas for reasons of brand recognition as he lives out his well-deserved retirement in Norway, his fairy daughter has since succeeded him and obtained the title of “Queen of Christmas”. Residing in the Christmas Castle at the north pole, she has long since imprinted her own spin on the festivities, streamlining production lines and bringing the substantial bureaucracy of her kingdom up to speed with the modern world. But besides present production lines, elf education and ornament organization, there was still the matter of the naughty list.

This is how the Tickle Academy came to be. These halls would become the place were eagers fairies would sharpen their skills to properly punish the naughty with terrible torrents of tickling. In it’s now long and prestigious history, the Tickle Academy has produced countless graduates to serve in one of the Tickle Squads casting judgment upon the wicked. However, only a few years ago, a particularly promising group of graduates made headlines in the magical world. This "Mint Squad" was quickly proving itself to be amongst the most efficient in the academy’s history. Earning the respect of the Queen herself, Mint Squad was deemed an elite unit, dispatched to deal with the naughtiest of the naughty – always returning with yet another success under their belt. Failure is not an option to these prestigious professionals, so best beware, lest you want to end up being taught a ticklish lesson this Christmas...

I am working on this year's Christmas special with them at the moment, but in a stroke of truly fucked rotten luck, I've managed to catch covid only days before Christmas. So that's fun.
