It’s kinda funny to think about, since the cold used to be so dreadful way back. Juni, in her past, can remember curling up in layers upon layers of blankets and bedding, can faintly remember hands gripping her own and rubbing them together to warm them up. She remembers shivering, remembers a cold so deep it touched her bones and made them rough with frost that couldn’t be flaked away. And now? Now she has none of that. The weather is still just as cold, but her body has no bones to freeze. There’s no hands to warm her own, no blanket that could fully block the dread of winter’s chill. She won’t freeze up and crumble away like brittle ice, but she’ll wither and stay like a skeletal tree. She can tolerate it now, but yet she still can’t. Muscle memory leaves her aching anyway, leaves her wanting for a warmth she can’t have. It’s snowing. The farm is covered
