So we've got a bunch of new IQ skills in Explorers. Each set of skills is limited to specific Pokémon.
In Ty's case, he's one of the ones who can learn Intimidator, which can actually make foes cringe and be unable to move if they try to attack. In other words, makes them miss a turn. Very annoying, I'll bet.
Ty's just testing it out here but...
