Description
Commission piece for
Autumn is a good season to get answers to questions I need answered. It's such a busy time for everyone preparing for the winter ceremonies and/or hibernation, that things get done. Fast and efficiently.
So I was asking for a message to come to me, and low and behold only days after I received one. A big black-ash boar was resting in the night, at the foot of a tree, when he very sturdily got up, and without a stretch or hesitation, burst into a run.
I knew that the mid ground was the one I had to paint. The pre-gallop into the run, right after he got up.
Boars, chickens, and horses were not native to Canada. These were animals brought over by the colonists, and yet some legends consist of their presence or their images here. I was told that it was becuase these animals were guests here, that they soon made this place their home. And as always, they were serving to teach us how one can live amongst the natural habitants of any land without destroying the original dwellers.
It's a pity that- as always- the colonists never bothered to learn the lessons from them.
As always, please refrain form using this artwork for personal use- it is not to be redistributed or used, with exception of the artist and commissioner. I cannot stress enough the dangers of taking that which isn't yours- specifically form this culture. Please consider them as well.

Hello,
I really love your artwork. I was wondering if I could use this artwork for my products to propagate and promote Haida culture in particular and Canadian culture in general. I will print them on my clothes.
I will obviously credit you and the art work title and we can discuss commission prices and content that can fit your needs.
If you have any questions about my product, please don't hesitate to contact me via email (1stcanadaproud@gmail.com).
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Thomas.
