“Once we recover. We’re going to do it again.” Katrina’s sudden announcement had the living smurfs staring at her. She leveled red-rimmed eyes at Eerie. “And again until we know how to kill them.”The redhead shuddered. After a breath she nodded. “You’re right.”“Sleep, Sissy. You can try again after you wake up and eat something. In the meantime we can try to find more information.” Sinister advised.“Start with Havana.” The oracle told him. “I found out that she’s a Dreamer like Sopitas.”His thick eyebrows raised in surprise. “What?”“She calls herself the Grey Guard of Dreams according to the White’s Dreamer.”The plague doctor jumped to his...
“Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!” The three siblings sang loudly as they ‘sailed’.“We sail and ride the waves along the briny sea!” Allen had a bandanna tied around his head and held an old spoon that had been bent in his wrapped sleeve like a hook.“We brave and strong and sail along whatever the danger may be!” Added in Hannibal. His pirate costume was an eyepatch and a wooden stick he brandished like a rapier.“Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!” “We’re lookin for treasure, whatever the weather!” Morrigan piped up. She wore a paper hat and held up a plate from the kitchen for a wheel.“Uh… what’s the next line?” Asked the half-gob...
The orange haired smurfette hesitated. She hadn't expected the off-white in front of her to make the first move. Then she remembered. The fresh flowers left on her windowsill and the basket of brownies left on her doorstep that had puzzled her. She turned red again. "I… y-yes."
The black haired smurf fairly vibrated with excitement. He moved his hand in offering. "It's no mere ornament for you hand either. It's made of Kirin horn -or, well, she's half-Kirin- but the properties remain the same."
Yvette picked up the ring and held it between thumb and forefinger. "Properties?"
The mage beamed. "Oh yes! The horns -and bones- contain the magic...
Sinister helped the smurfette back to her feet. He began gesturing with his free hand. "Now all I have to do is vaporise a bit of the water and ta-da!" With a final sweep of his hand a wave of fog swept up and out to cover the top of the lake. The herbalist looked at him in confusion.
"Legends say Kirin fly, but that's not quite the case. They can create clouds and storms and walk on water." The mage stepped up onto the fog. "And when you combine the two it looks very much like flying."
Yvette gasped. She raised her foot and stepped up. With a feeling like trodding on sloping sand she adjusted her pace and stood on top of the fog bank. "Thi...
Others trickled in. From Papa Smurf's village came a handful of smurfs, mostly the defense and rescue workers. From deeper in the swamps Doofus and Eerie led those who volunteered. Dede skipped up to meet her sister and grabbed her hands. The redhead pulled her sister into a hug. Her younger sibling flying through the air caught by the creatures tongue still happened in the visions she’d seen. Sometimes she was freed in time. Sometimes not.The brown haired female fairly pranced and pulled back. “Sissy-sissy-sissy!” She squealed in her excitement. “We get to be preggy-buddies!”The oracle fought a spike of fear that was more pronounced than m...
Chaser slid to a stop in front of the medical center. It was as busy as anyplace in smurf village since the population was steadily growing. Now it was manned by not just Doctor and Medic, but those of the next generation as well. She pushed the swinging door open to find Sassette in healer's garb and dug into her bag for the package.
"Hiya Chaser, do you have those lilly roots from Herbalist?" The redhead barely had time to get the question out before the package was offered.
"Of course." The messenger answered happily. "I ran out this morning to get them."
"Oh grateful gophers, thanks! This will really help with that tonic Doctor's making."
"It's no problem. I--" The brown and white haired smurfette stopped mid-sentence. Her eyes tracked a smurf as he made his way down the stairs from the second floor.
"Mornin Chaser, Sassy." Rectifier greeted the two females. "Doctor was wondering when those roots were comin in."
"Oh, I'll smurf them up now." The redhead chirped. She waved as
SEARCHINGInside the back room area of the book shop, Thomas was looking at one of the book shelf, searching for a book that a customer order a few days ago. He remember that one of his twin daughters were able to pick up the book for him, but forgot to mention that they accidently put it away on a book shelf, but they didn’t say which one. So Thomas continue on searching for the book, knowing it was going to take him a long day. After looking through the first three shelves, he walk over the other side from where he was and continue searching another shelf. Thomas was doing his best to find the book, but so far he had no luck finding it. A...
"Oh thank goodness you're here." Gruesome sighed in relief. "She's doing it again, so you'll get to see what she's doing."Doofus eyed his nephew with a smile. "Well, if you had studied, you might be able to tell yourself."The hooded smurf looked away. Awkwardly he shoved the topic back to the problem. "Well, she's just outside with Hannibal and Allen…"The tall smurf followed as they left the front porch and walked through the yard and into the graveyard. The neat rows of headstones eventually broke into a small garden lined with hedges. There sitting on a picnic blanket were Edgar's three oldest children. The trio froze as the adults walke...
A monster slunk through the shadows of the houses. Large and rust furred, it stopped at the window of a house. It was overweight for a wolf, a little too round in places that should be sleek muscle. The long muzzle sniffed at the base, back and forth. Then it stood up on two legs and carefully put a line of a half dozen fish on the sill. It had to adjust the pile when the food threatened to spill off and fiddled with the fresh fish until they stayed. The creature turned and off it sped into the night. Angler slunk into the house. The grey of dawn let her easily see so she could step on the floorboards just so to walk quietly. She headed towa...
The hallway was long and had she been wearing hard soled shoes the sound would have echoed loudly. As it was the whisper of her feet made the barest of sounds. Her escort, a young smurf in feminine clothes had high heeled boots that clacked and echoed. They stopped in front of the large, ornate wooden doors. "It was bound to happen sooner or later." Doofus had told her. "I was hoping it would be later. But now he wants to meet you."
"I'll be sure to tread carefully." The oracle had reassured him. The blonde rapped at the door and waited for the call to enter. Then they opened the door and announced, "It's the Grey, Granddaddy."
Eerie padde...
They were both drunk. An impressive thing for Basil considering it took a human sized wine bottle for him to feel the effects anymore. But this was a keg of goblin made mushroom vodka, far stronger than anything he'd come across. And possibly magically enhanced. And the damn thing was empty now.The band room was empty save for the two of them. The other musically inclined smurfs and smurfettes had left for bed. They were on the edge of the stand and facing the rows of seats for the audience.
His drinking partner was finishing his second cup. He tilted his head back, showing off the tattoos on his scalp. The plump smurf squinted at the three...
