My First SPH: The Wakeboarding Accident
When I was in high school, I got my first girlfriend Amanda. We had been dating for a couple of months when she invited me to go out onto the lake on her family’s boat. She said we could wakeboard and lay in a raft connected to the boat and, even though I hadn’t ever done anything like that, thought it sounded like fun.
We got to the lake and had a great time just chilling on the boat. After a bit she asked me to steer the boat while she went wakeboarding. She looked like a pro and kept yelling “faster! Faster!”
After she went around the whole lake flawlessly, she said it was my turn. Getting on the board I was actually terrified. I had no idea what I was doing, but she just said, “hang on to the rope and you’ll be fine.”
Only a few seconds in, I was already starting to lose my balance. I felt the boat starting to pick up speed and I yelled out for her to slow down, but she ignored me. I tried the best I could to stay upright, but I fell down into the waves. I dug my fingers into
