Pursuit of Power Ch. 4
I lifted my aching leg up as far as I could go, barely reaching the top of the knee-deep snow that surrounds me and Ashei.
"Keep up, Hero," she playfully shouts back my direction as she effortlessly makes her own path through the snow, clearly adapted to this kind of environment.
I grunt, pushing my burning legs to keep going. A sudden gust of snowflakes whips through, feeling like a thousand, tiny needles repeatedly stabbing my face. A dense, powerful snowstorm began shortly into our trek, making this trip even more dangerous. I can barely see out in front of me, besides the puff of air each ragged breath I take and just a hint of Ashei's silhouette, which is impressive since we are only two feet between each other.
Despite not moving fast, my heart races, unsure if it's because of all the work I have to do to just walk, or being practically reduced to helpless and blind.
We continue walking in what feels like forever in this frozen, cold hell until I end up bumping

Underswap: Losing Hazel
Starting high school is a big step in everyone’s life. For Hazel, it was even more significant because she was going to school with monsters in the underground. Being the only human in a monster school was a challenge, but it was also quite fun. Due to it only being the beginning of the year, Hazel didn’t have many friends yet, but they still enjoyed their new school. As Hazel sat alone at a table in the cafeteria and opened her lunch, she noticed another student getting pushed around. Hazel felt sorry for the girl as she watched the other kids shove her around and soon leave her on the floor with her belongings strewn about, as she was no stranger to bullying. So she decided to help her pick up her belongings.
???: Thank you.
Hazel: You’re welcome.
???: No monster has ever done this for me before. I never thought the human student would do it for me.
Hazel: I’m no stranger to bullying myself and have also never had anyone do that for me before, so I thought it would be nice to do

Time Pivots around a Fulcrum: Chapter 3
Somewhere in space, five years after the fall of the Empire.
Pain. That was the first thing that Kallus registered. He felt like someone had stuck a hot knife in his skull and twisted. He tried to open his eyes and hissed as the motion made new pain rip through his head. Something beeped worriedly above him and he heard the sound of a drawer opening. Kallus wondered what was going on. For a few moments, he simply breathed through the pain. Then, he gritted his teeth and opened his eyes.
The world swirled around him like one of Sabine’s attempts at abstract art, before settling into place. He blinked twice. He knew this bunk. It was his bunk on Glimmer. Glimmer was his refurbished Imperial ship. Kallus had rebuilt her himself. Although it was against all the regulations of the Rebel Alliance, Kallus had refused to wipe the ship’s memory after he’d saved her from the scrapyard. And, over the years, she’d developed her own personality, much like Chopper or AP-5. She was one of the

I tried to repress my feelings for years.
I thought they would fade over time.
I thought she would grow into the culture of her classmates of her age.
I needed to let her go and grow so she would take care of herself.
Being eccentric, she did not relate well with her classmates.
My feelings grew stronger no matter how hard I pushed them away.
We shared the same humor, hopes, and dreams. We related to each other so well.
I cherished each moment we were together.
Besides her quirky but wonderful personality, she was the cutest girl I had ever seen.
An infectious smile spread across an already gorgeous face.

WTH?! Anna stirred. Her body felt like it had been pulled through hell and back. Each of her limbs burned. Her mind was being pierced and poked from every side. There was darkness covering her vision. “My head...” She groaned, then opened her eyes. Then she closed them and opened them again, unable to believe what she was seeing. She wasn’t in the guild room, or anywhere she knew for that matter. The walls, which were stone, were black and grey. The floor was the same. The air was heavy and dead, weighing her lungs down. And against one wall, a heavy metal gate blocked the only way out she could see. “W...
I could barely breathe
My head was breaking
And I was suffocatingEverything was almost black
But there was a dim light
In my visionThere were noises all around
Clashing with each otherMy body was trying to survive
But my mind was tempted to just give up
Standing on this empty platform
in echoing silence, I wait
All alone, waiting on the unknown
wondering why I still hesitate
Blank ticket, my mind fumbles
but can't remember how I got there
Staring out into dark tunnels
leading from nowhere to nowhere
No surprise, the light at the end
of the tunnel turns out to be a train
Still don't know where it's taking me
but I guess I can't complain And you're on your way, destination unknown
someplace you can only go all on your own
All aboard the Mystery Train
but is it bound for something more
you hope to find where you've never been before? All the passenger cars are empty
and the destinations don't...

Night On The Mountain
The sanctuary was warm against the cold mountain nights, and more importantly healing waters had been stocked up which the battered adventurers greatly appreciated. Takeshi especially. Bowls filled with a strong broth warmed the bones, though none thought to question their bakeneko host where the meat came from, or what it had been in life. All were afraid of the answer the feline would give.
“A rat the size of a human you say,” Tora asked.
“Yes,” Decius replied.
“Wielding an axe,” Tora continued his questioning.
“Correct.”
“And you fought this pirate rat?”
Decius nodded.
Tora waved his paw about, “Preposterous, you are lying. Rats the size of humans, ridiculous.”
Decius scowled, “Think what you want cat. It’s true.”
Takeshi was already testing his sword arm as Satsu sharpened the blade of her naginata. Narita caught Satsu’s eye as she sat next to her adoptive sister.
“You’re certain Lord Tanaka sent you on this quest?” Satsu asked.
Narita rolled her

The Cold Reality “...” Anna stared at the cave Tiempo had gone into, a resigned look on her face. Riley kept looking away, but his eyes kept returning to her. Her whole face was scratched up, and red blood was beginning to stain her normally brown fur. Shadows were beginning to form under her eyes. And her eyes, normally alive and bright, were dead and sunken in. It isn’t fair. He kept on thinking. Why is this happening to us...to Anna...to me...? “Riley...” Her soft voice brought him back to attention. “What are we going to do now...? No yo comprendo ...I don’t understand...what’s going on anymore...I’m...
