A war between the Gaian Order and the Martian Commonwealth was going badly for Earth, with the Martians launching an invasion backed by a rebellion by a new political movement within the Gaian Government, with both failing as the Martians only landed troops on a few spots of the planet and the revolution proved to be highly unpopular. The Gaian order had reclaimed control of the orbit, and the Martians were driven out of Earth's hill sphere within a few decades.
