Shift/Shape 2: Serafina
[THE HOUSE, Serafina's garage. Serafina, fidgety, rough, is leaning against her workbench in stained coveralls.]
"I love it. No doubt. Watch this." She disassembles, wipes down, and reassembles a mechanical part with her four arms dancing in harmony. "Fun, yeah?"
She sets aside the heavy part with one set of arms while reaching for another object, this one made of unfinished wood. She places it along length of her forearm so that it ends at the crease in her elbow, takes a breath, and tenses up.
Her hand - and the wood she's holding - begins to show ripples, like viewing an object at the bottom of a pool. The ripples intensify. Soon, the wood and her arm bifurcate, separating out farther from each other. Sera keeps her split arm moving around as the ripples fade away. She now has five hands, with one arm split into two at her elbow.
Sera catches her breath. "Elizabeth told me about this a few months ago, and I had to give it a try. The best idea she has right now is that wood
