Part 215: how opposites meet - a Shadilver story
Silver, Shadow and Tails entered the cafeteria and noticed Sonic and Espio sitting at one of the tables which they joined. As they did, Sonic and Espio quickly stopped their conversation.
“How was class?” Espio asked interestedly.
“It was pretty fun actually,” Silver said as they took the seat next to Espio, “We had to communicate with a computer through code. It was pretty interesting as it learned from our answers. But the teacher soon had to shut it down,” They chuckled.
“Why?” Espio asked interestedly.
“Well, someone,” Silver said with an obvious look towards Shadow, “Turned it into an internet troll.”
Shadow took the seat next to Tails and chuckled, “Well, it wasn’t that much of a challenge.”
“It wasn’t even a challenge,” Tails snapped, a little annoyed because he thought it was interesting to communicate with a system the way they did.
Silver laughed, “But it was kind of funny.”
Espio and Shadow smiled at seeing Silver so joyful. “It’s good to see you so happy

When Espio and Silver returned home, they got greeted by their cats. On the way home, they had gone to the grocery store to get some ingredients for dinner.
Espio felt curious about why Silver had followed Shadow through the hallway after their lessons and what they had talked about. But he didn’t know if he wanted to ask, maybe because he was scared of the answer but also because Silver was so upbeat today and he didn’t want to spoil their fun. They were so excited for the upcoming two days.
After Silver had fed the cats, they put on some music on their phone and leaned it against the fridge as they started helping Espio in the kitchen with dinner. Silver had a hard time standing still with the music on as they were so looking forward to tomorrow.
Espio chuckled at seeing Silver so happy and acting rather silly. They bumped their hip against Espio’s to try and get him moving to the music as well. When the song ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ was on, they sang with it. Silver took Espio’s

Infinite and Silver talked for a long time, though it was mostly Silver talking while Infinite listened with interest and occasionally asked a question. Infinite himself didn’t have much to tell as not much had happened for him in the years since Silver left.
Silver left a few things out because they didn’t want to make Infinite feel worried. They didn’t tell him that they had lived on the streets for a long time, instead making it sound like they’d been living with Tails. They left out the part about being bullied and lonely at school for a long time, and about what happened with Scourge and what he did to them.
Infinite was also very interested in why Silver was arrested and how Silver theirself didn’t actually know why. The only thing they knew was that they were accused of stealing a chaos emerald, but they only remembered looking at it and a second later it was gone.
They were both pretty worried about the situation and the fact that Silver was all alone in this.

“I hate this so much,” Espio said as he paced nervously on the pavement and took a drag from his cigarette. “I hate feeling this powerless and dependent,” He said frustratedly as sitting still and waiting for others to get any information wasn’t for him.
“Yeah, me too,” Shadow sighed, letting the smoke escape his lungs. “But at least we are one step further now that you have a lawyer again. It’s at least something.”
Espio rubbed his temples, “It’s something indeed, but we need to figure this out faster.”
“Maybe you should just sit down and try to meditate?” Lanolin suggested. She was sitting on one of the benches outside with her laptop on her lap to find out if the media had any important information. “It always gave you a better perspective on things. Maybe it will help.”
Shadow rolled his eyes at Lanolin’s suggestion.
“I don’t think I can do that now. I’m too restless.”
“Or maybe just try and get some sleep,” Shadow suggested. “When did you even sleep last?” He asked and
