Cordeila’s head swam as her vision flickered into focus. She frowned, trying to focus, but the throbbing pain in her head refused to let her. Taking several deep breaths, Cordeila calmed herself down. Her vision snapped back into focus. She picked herself up off the floor and surveyed her surroundings. She was in a dimly lit room, the only source of light being torches that were too far above her to be of any use. The stone walls were lined with various chains, shackles and handcuffs. She frowned. So she was in a dungeon of some kind, and yet she herself was not restrained. Clearly her captors weren’t worried about escape attempts. Looking around, she couldn’t even figure out how she had entered the room she was in. A sudden movement caught her eye. In the corner lay a figure passed out on the ground, twitching as if in the middle of a bad dream.
