What if Code Lyoko was a far better show...

Backstory:
On June 2, 2000, at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, two students of the Gobelins school named Tania Palumbo and Thomas Romain showcased a little 50-second introduction they made for the festival. The reception was absolutely positive, the animation was fluid, the character design was novel at the time with its clear Japanese inspirations. Overall, the whole thing looked like it had potential written all over it. Soon though, a meeting with Marc du Pontavice and Patrick Le Lay, respectively CEOs of Xilam and T.F.1. would put everything into motion. The two were impressed by the short cartoon and they saw a platinum opportunity: for du Pontavice, it was to branch beyond Space Goofs and Oggy and the Cockroaches and be known for something far more serious. For Le Lay, it was to give T.F.1. a high quality show that could give the channel something positive to talk about following a very turbulent decade.
Soon however, many
