Siren Head: Looming Shadow (Part 4)
I wandered through the trees alone. It hadn’t taken long to find Champion’s Lake and set up our trap. Terrence and Alice had already taken their positions. All that was left to do now was my part. It wasn’t something I anticipated doing, obviously, but in order for this to work, I have to lure Siren Head with something he’d want. While comforting, the forest ambience wasn't all that helpful. It was that sense of dread that comes when you know you’re about to be startled; like when you’re waiting for a jumpscare in a horror game. But of course, I’m confronting a real threat, not a fictional one. I take a few, drawn out breaths, focusing my hearing on every inhale and exhale. I got this. I got this…
But just when I was starting to calm down, I heard heavy footsteps coming towards me. I look over my shoulder and see him, partly obscured by shadow from the surrounding trees, but still the Siren Head I have the displeasure of knowing. Trying to keep my nerves steady, I drew a nervous grin.
