Raiden, Liu Kang and Kung Lao returned to the cathedral via another of Raiden's teleportation lightning with the Special Forces already on their way to meet them at New York as Raiden didn't have enough strength to teleport all the soldiers along with himself, Lao and Kang so the Special Forces agreed to stick together as they travelled to the cathedral.
