The monsters were able to press the mouthguard deep into her throat, but they could not snap it. Emma willed herself to depress her gag reflex and fought harder. It was 6 years into the mission of the DeepNight. She carried an all-female crew to avoid the possible complications that arise with sex and pregnancy on a ship ill-equipped for both. There were six members onboard this voyage: Ashleigh was the headstrong leader. She had long, winding blonde hair that trailed along her back to the end of her torso. She was also the tallest member of the crew and the most experienced, as well. But looks do deceive. To the outside observer she may seem aloof and foolhardy, but she is also observant and comes through in a pinch. That has pleased the Agency enough to reward her with the rank of captain. Emma was the second most senior member of the crew. In many ways she was the opposite of Ashleigh. The young woman had long black hair that she nearly always tied into a bun or a ponytail. She was measured in both personality and action. She took the most diligent care of the ship, in hopes that one day her work would be rewarded
