The whole madness started in a blanket of white. Ash was engulfed by the endless blank space. “What is this place…?” The young man had mumbled as he stood up. In a matter of seconds, Goh had faded into existence. He laid unconscious on the fragmented surface.
“Goh! Hey!” Ash crouched down to his companion and took ahold of his shoulders to shake him. “Wake up?”
The other boy labored a groan, his body animated to lean up on his own. “Eh? Woah…” His words trailed when his fluttered eyes met the bright white. “Where are we?”
“I don’t know! That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” Ash said, his voice tainted in panic as he paced around. Even when he performed a three-sixty, he could never escape the dull atmosphere. “Are we in a trap?” The boy regretted raising his volume when his question echoed back at him.
Before he planned to protest against the unknown, Goh shuffled behind him. “I think there is an exit!” Ash turned to him and he had his finger pointed to a black dot.
“It’s a possible way out. Hopefully, it’s not some trick.” Ash and Goh had exchanged nods and took their first steps.
The squeaking of their shoes and the heaving of their chest was mirrored in their ears. That didn’t phase them from venturing to the ever-so-growing black dot. Before they knew it, they were drawn in when the block dot widened. An unknown force transcended them into the dark orbit and yelled when their bodies unraveled into morphed strings.
They were flat against the ground once more, both of them wined by the impact of landing on...dirt?
The boys looked down and saw the familiar brown hue of dirt and the green from the lushed trees. No more dizzying white to haunt them.
“Oh, we’re back!” Goh had cheered and smiled when skyrocketed to his feet.
“Are we? We didn’t rest in the middle of the road. And where is our stuff?!” Ash processed, his eyes darted for anything to grab ahold of their belongings. “D-do you think we got robbed?”
“No way! If we did, we would have known by now.”
The other pokemon trainer went into deep thought. “You’re right...Pikachu would have notified me. Heck, they even somehow stole the sleeping bags we were in!”
“Do you think it’s telekinesis from a pokemon?” Goh had suggested.
“Possibly! I was-”
Both the boys stifled a scream when a giant box had emerged from the sky. It landed and huffed dust into the air. It was tied by a single wrap, crisscrossed along the top and bottom then tied into a neat bow in the center of its surface.
The duo kept their distance as they rendered the ten feet tall box, their sight unwavered as the dust began to settle. No words were quick enough to mutter when the gift began to shake violently until a saw protruded from the top. The sharp metal ate up the cardboard with ease, it circled around the bow until the cut area sunk into the box. Then confetti and three black blurs whim past their vision.
As the colorful tattered to the ground, so did the three black blurs. They soon revealed to be three identicals anthropomorphic creatures with goofy smiles and dog-like ears. Their gloved hands waved at the frightened trainers. “Happy birthday!”
Ash’s face contorted into reasonable confusion when he first heard them open their mouths. “W-what it isn’t my birthday.”
“Well, every day is a birthday when people are always born! So happy birthday to all!” One of them had chimed, their voices thick with an accent that was hard to decipher.
“They’re talking pokemon!” Goh called out.
“Talking who-wuh-wuh?” They all asked in unison.
“You’re pokemon right?”
“Poke-a-mon?” Yakko asked before shaking his head. “That’s not cool to poke a mon.”
“Yeah, mon!” Wakko imitated a Jamaican accent and suddenly played some bongos that appeared out of thin air.
Ash kept mouthing “what” throughout the scene. To be honest. He had every reason to be scared and baffled by three weird beings that can fully speak English but Goh kept the pursuit of learning more.
“You have to be the psychic and normal type if you made a reality like this,” he predicted but he never made the most regretful assumption in his life.
“He’s calling us normies!” Dot had whined.
“He?! I thought that was a girl!” Wakko replied.
Yakko shook his head again, his disappointment immeasurable. “Oh boy, you need to get your ears and eyes fixed, brother.”
“It’s not my fault he had pretty eyelashes.” Wakko defended himself.
Soon, Dot teleported infront of Goh and was right up in his face. “Oh, he does! Why are his better than mines, that’s not fair!” The trainer had squeaked before jumping back and Dot got off of him.
“What, you don’t think I’m cute?” She asked when she pouted.
“Who are you?!” Ash protectively guided the other trainer to step back.
“Oh! We’re Yakko, Wakko, and Dot!” They cheered as they individually announced their names.
“So they’re a trio of pokemon, I think they’re at different evolution stages and even have a female variant.” The pokemon champion had whispered to Goh.
“You think so?!” His eyes widened before looking down at his pocket. He dove his hand into it and pulled out his Rotom Phone. “Oh, we still have stuff in our pockets! Now let’s see…” He had opened the device and tried to scan the trio, but they were still labeled as unknown. He even checked their location and it was random. “Woah, I got nothing!”
“Nothing? I think they might be legendaries! If they have this much powerful psych-”
“Aww, you called us legends? We love ya already!” Wakko had peered behind Goh’s shoulder and gave him a kiss. The trainer took no time to throw him off. “Mew is still better to me.” His voice lowered to an icy tone as he glared at the creature with the red cap.
“Oh well, they’re worth catching!” Ash had pulled out a poke ball. He then chucked the ball at Wakko since he was the closest.
“Ooo, are we playing baseb-” The capsule opened up, and blinding red plasma wrapped around Wakko. It then sucked him inside but before it could close, Yakko held it open with his foot. “Oh cool, it must be a whole world in there!”
“You guys gotta see it too!” Dot had grabbed ahold of both of the human males before jumping in with Yakko.
For the third time in a row, they plopped hard onto the concrete ground. Once their debris-covered faces were lifted as they groaned they figured out they were infront of a water tower with beige-colored buildings. Anything further was shrouded in pure white.
Before they could question their surroundings, the ground behind them broke down into geometric shapes and sunk into the white background. Then the symbol on the water tower burst open and Yakko had popped his head out. “We’re in here! Come in!”
The two trainers scrambled to their feet and climbed up the ladder. The ground they had just let sunk deep into the white, faster and faster until the ladder began to disburse as well. But they made it inside the tower right before they sunk too, their chests heaved as they crouched.
“Welcome to our home! Hope ya feel comfy here.” Yakko introduced the two to the tight and messy space, knick-knacks and toys were scattered about. Rails had twisted around the main interior and a colorful train occupied it. The boys had to swerve away tonight get bulldozed by the hunk of metal as Yakko rode it. “Except for some odd reason, everything has silly red coding in it.”
“It’s even in my perfume!” Dot had yelled as she eyed a bottle then showed the two. They squinted and noticed the yellowish-red numbers and letters littering the surface of the object.
Wakko then drove the train nearby and stopped along the tracks. “Oh, does that mean everything is made out of alphabet soup?!” He then opened his mouth and ate the side of the train. The metal sunk down his throat and then it outlined his whole stomach sideways. “It still tastes irony.”
Yakko then came in and gotten a random hammer and whammed it against his brother. “What I told you about eating objects in the house?” As the two began to bicker the boys had spare time to talk.
“I think we shouldn’t question it and go with their flow. They’re extremely powerful!” Ash had said
“They even managed to put us inside the poke ball! This is crazy!” Goh had barely contained his high-pitched whispering.
“We just have to wait and see if we can escape first, then we try to-”
Dot suddenly appeared between them with a magnifying glass in her hand and wore a Sherlock Holmes disguise. “What mystery are we talking about?’
They both yelped as they jumped back, Ash even stumbled and fell on his back.
“You two are such scaredy cats!”
“N-no we’re not!” Goh said.
“Scaredy cats, scardey cats, scardey cats.” Yakko and Wakko joined in the tease and sang.
“My friend here is a well-respected trainer who traveled across the world and his name is Ash Ketchum! We don’t need to be desire-”
“Ash Ketchup?”
“Ashes and Ketchup? Ewww!” Dot whined as she stuck her tongue out.
“You must have the worst parents in the world if you’re named that.” Yakko had snickered behind his gloved hand.
Ash himself gotten heated and stood tall and proud. “I have the best mom ever!”
“Pal, if you’re allowed to travel across the world by yourself as a kid, she does not care for you one bit,” Yakko sighed. “And she named you Ash Ketchup, that’s a double-whammy.”
“What about your daddy? Or did he disappear at a gas station after promising to just grab chips?” Wakko added more salt to the wound.
“Poor thing, we feel bad for you.” Dot had purred and gave Ash a hug but he tried to shake her off. “Wow, how rude!” She got off of him and crossed her arms.
However, the trainer had enough of their shenanigans and barked. “We’ll get out of here and catch you for good! You can’t keep us inside here forever, even if you’re legendary pokemon!”
“No, don’t threaten to poke-”
For the first time, the boy cut them off. “It’s short for pocket monster!”
“What now?” Wakko asked.
“A pocket monster!” Goh had repeated for him.
The three anthros exchanged questionably and worried expressions before Yakko kissed his hand dramatically and waved to a nonexistent audience. “Goodnight everybody!” Then he snapped his fingers.
A trapdoor randomly appeared under the boys. It opened up and they gasped as they were suspended in thin air. Then they plummeted like dumbbells as they wailed, engulfed by the white that plagued them in the very beginning.

Ash let out a breathless yell as he flicked his body upwards. Sweat trickled down his reddened face, the refreshing breeze gave him coolness and blew away his troubles. Their camp laid untouched before him and the trainer no longer had to hold his breath for anticipation. He began to laugh softly, his head fuzzed.
“I-I’m here...it was all a dream.” He had chuckled but his voice cracked. He turned to Goh who had just woken up as well. He stirred in his sleeping bag before he faced Ash.
The other trainer wiped his eyes, but his tone weakened. “Ash? Are you okay? Did you...see what I saw?”
“Yeah! We shared the same dream!”
“That’s what I thought.” Goh had muttered.
Pikachu was right next to Ash, he yawned as he stretched his body. “Pikaaa!”
“Buddy!” He immediately scooped his companion in his hands and he snuggled his cheek against his. The pokemon emitted playful sparks as he cooed, his little paws wrapped over his owner’s stomach. “Oh, man did I missed you!”
“Guess it truly was a dream..” Goh had mumbled as he double-checked his surroundings. The campfire, their bookbags, rotom phones, the tree they slept by were all there. “To be honest, even if they were annoying, it would be amazing if they were real and we caught them.”
“Hah! In your dreams!” Ash had teased and let out a joyous laugh.
Goh gave him a relieved smile. “You’re right. Besides, Mew is who I’m after.”
“It’ll be even harder to find than any other mythical. At least Shaymin appears by the Gracidea flower field in Sinnoh.”
“Don’t worry, I just got to try hard enough.”
The two then got lost in a conversation and relished their return to normalcy. They soon got out of their sleeping bags, rolled them up, and then decided it was best to make breakfast and drink water before setting out. As they enjoyed their morning, they had failed to notice the warner siblings that sat on a tree branch. Wakko hummed a tune as he swung his feet and his siblings sang in rhythm.
“I wanna be the very best!” Yakko song.
“Like no one ever waaaas!” Dot followed up.
“To catch is my real test!”
“To train em is becauuuse!” Wakko sang horribly.
“Aye, it’s ‘my cause’ not because!” Dot had corrected him. “And you were the beat, not the one singing!”
“Guys guys, it’s a new song to us. We still got a lot to practice. Can’t believe a show about young kids illegally kidnapping goofy creatures from their habitat to abuse their powers was ever allowed to air since the 1990s.”
“Yet you decided for us to invade it.” Dot added.
“I thought it looked cool! And I wondered if you could create your own world in this thing.” Yakko had tossed the very poke ball Ash had, he let it spin in the air and then repeatedly land in his palm. “If I ever live in these I can do whatever you want.”
“But we could already do that anyway!” Wakko added.
“Yeah but not to that extent. Hmm, y’know what, let’s explore Yu-Gi-Oh! That’s the next show that’s gonna play on 4Kids anyways.” Yakko had a tv remote in his other hand.
Dot began to dance around on the tree branch. “Ooo, I wanna see the magician girl and have a party with her!”
“That’s only if you play your cards right!” Wakko added.
“Let’s see for ourselves,” Yakko said lastly. Their reign on the pokemon world ended when he clicked the button to change the channel. They waved to you before everything was wiped by grey static.
