Depression is like a rock you constantly carry with you.  You can never get rid of it, you can never make it go away, and you can never, EVER pretend it's not there.  It's constantly hurting you.  Constantly making you think that you're not good enough for anything.  Sometimes you can make the rock smaller with medication, but no matter what you do you still have to carry it with you.  And the rock is a geode.  It's not exactly hallow, though.  It's filled with masks that you can put on to make everything look okay, even though it's really not.  Everything hurts.  Your back hurts from carrying it, your shoulders hurt from the weight of it,...
