The theater was alive with activity. Although well kept, it appeared as if it hadn’t seen an update since the 20s both in function and design.  Up front, the pit orchestra played instrumental versions of songs such as “Swanee” “Sweet Georgia Brown” and “Baby Face”,  entertaining tonight’s guests as they waited for the show to begin.  A vast red curtain painted with shadows created by the lighting of the theater’s chandelier still covered the screen .  Paintings that gave nod to idealized pastoral  scenes covered the walls. This was not some modern cinema pled, this was a classic movie palace in every sense of the meaning. Throughout the en...
