Higher Altitudes

Meet my original character, Blár! It's been a while since I have drawn her last time. Nowadays the green-haired stallion Thunder is the only one of my OC's that gets regular attention... Whoopsie. :') 
Blár was created in 2011, and her design has stayed the same ever since.

This was such a fun project to do, even if when I started to paint with watercolours, the paper started to annoy me. This time I wanted to use a different paper that I usually do. The idea wasn't that good, because this Canson one was very hard to work with (especially layering colours was just... pain). I'm going to stick with my favourite Fabriano paper in the future. : D
I kinda wanted to do the gothic rose window in the background more complex but inking that didn't sound that tempting lol.

Used tools: Schmincke Horadam watercolours, several brushes for ink, watercolour brushes (Daler-Rowney), bottled ink (Rohrer & Klingner Zeichentusche black and gold) and white gouache paint (Royal Talens).
