Hi!  It's been a while since I wrote one of these but I wanted to write a quick update on how things have been with me as of late.

I've been working in a college campus as custodian for a building that's dedicated to visual and performing arts with workshops and art displays in places across the floors. I work 5 days a week, time off on the weekends, and I get paid pretty well for two weeks worth of work. The job has been good with some ups and downs to it but I'm handling it alright since I started working at the place last April. This has limit my free time to draw and stuff but I'm making sure to do what I can with art even if I'm not able to sit and finish any sort of artwork for a long time.

Apart from that, I've been doing some other stuff like traveling and getting a chance to hangout with family and do fun stuff together. I don't see them too often and between every one of us, we have some struggles to overcome and daily needs that have to be kept.

I also got my birthday to look forward to which is happening on the 22nd of February. I've been thinking about what to do for a celebration and even though I'll be working that day, I want to look around and see if there's anything I can do with the family before or after the day has passed. I won't be able to celebrate with any IRL friends sadly. 😢 they're pretty hard to come by and even sticking with some friends can be harder than finding them in this day and age.

Last year was a time of learning which came with new experiences that have taught me a lot and I feel like this year will be similar but with some surprises thrown in for good measure. Life is hard when you have new obstacles that you have to overcome and being a guy like me is gonna have me be open to new opportunities to grown and not miss out on all the good that's in this world of ours.

Lately, I've been thinking about what to do in terms of art projects for 2024. I have my main project called Dreamscape which hasn't been worked on as much as of late. I've been meaning to do some art and stuff for it but I found some other things that I was interested in  drawing like fanart and OCs of mine. I want to dedicate some time to jumping back into Dreamscape but still have some space open to do other stuff like draw more fanart of fictional characters and other artists' OCs. There's also the thought of doing full-art pieces that are bigger and have more space for details and scenarios with lots of characters interacting in them. I've been putting together a list of things I want to do art wise and all of this are going to be a part of it.

As for the title you just read, it's not a joke!  That's literally how I've been feeling lately. Some of you may not know that I'm hosting a #drawthisinyourstyle challenge for Dreamscape where you can draw members of The Pajama Party, main group of the project, and win some artistic goodies from me. I've started hosting this back in November with only a few entries from artists across Instagram and on here. I've started to feel a little depressed by this because it's been a few months and hardly no one has expressed interests in the challenge. I started to wonder if the girls were just not that interesting enough or if I haven't made the artwork for the challenge appealing enough to leave people to use their imagination to come up with something creative and fun. 😔 It might also be my following as an artist is not that good. I have made friends who really like my art and are even fans of the work I've put into Dreamscape. Everyone will say that it's social media's fault for failing artists which is why they're not doing well so I'll go with that as to why I'm struggling with

that on here and other places.

Because of this, I thought about cancelling the challenge, only giving the few participants the prizes of their choice. I hate how I've grown to be this person who wants to give up when things are looking down for me. This #drawthisinyourstyle challenge I'm hosting has been cancelled once and reopening it was a risk I took just to see how it would work this time. Maybe I suck at hosting this kind of challenge because I haven't been giving it a lot of attention and care, just leaving it out in the open in the hopes that somebody might care about it. I'm not blaming anybody for this. It's my fault because I chose to do this and I should care about it more by telling people about it. My first #drawthisinyourstyle challenge worked really well when I hosted that one with two OCs of mine named Lemine and Cream (Charlotte). I got a lot of entries and all of it took place in the middle of the summer. One mistake with the current one I'm hosting is that I opened it up again in the middle of the holidays so everyone was busy and would've forgotten all about it.

There's so much that I need to consider when hosting this kind of challenge and having experienced it three times now has taught me quite a bit about how others have done it and what one should do when wanting to host it with characters that are drawn to be appealing enough to get your watchers or followers invested in the idea of drawing them in your own style. I'm not gonna close the current DTIYS challenge. Instead, I'm extending the deadline to April 15th instead of February 22nd which is my birthday coming up. Maybe this reminder will help with some renewed interests. I'm keeping this open on here and Instagram because I have friends who might be interested in joining.

It's no pressure if some of you on here are not able to join. 😊👌 This could help me with doing better at hosting another DTIYS challenge with a clear perspective on how to present it to people who could find it interesting and can add a little bit of their own style to it.

It's been a long time coming but here's the return of a #drawthisinyourstyle challenge that I'm happy to announce since I wanted to do this after reaching a few milestones a while back.

This challenge has artwork remade from old character art I made of The Pajama Party, including Jessibel here, a few years ago that are done on a smaller scale this time. I figured they make for good art pieces to represent this challenge under the tagline #dsjlmchallenge.

This was mentioned back in November of 2023 so this challenge has been open for a few months now as I'm writing this on the day that this is posted.

Here are the rules for this challenge,

1 - You can draw the poses in your style

2 - You're welcome to change the pose or outfit if you like

3 - You can use any tools and format you like

4 - You can draw any member or with two, three, four, or all five girls if you like

5 - No NSFW please

6 - Leave a link to the original post you drew from

7 - Enjoy the process and have fun

This challenge is a contest as well which comes with prizes. What prizes could you win while participating in this contest?

Here are the prizes for each placement if you were to win,

1st place - Fully detailed artwork that's done on large sized paper and colored in with pencils by yours truly.

2nd place - A medium-sized character art piece that's fully colored with both background and character done in color.

3rd place - A small character art piece with only the character colored in but the background remains white.

Prizes can be mailed to the winners if they choose to have them. If you don't want to share your mailing address to me in order to receive your prizes, I'll understand. 😊👌

Challenge and contest ends on my birthday, February 22nd of 2024 which should give you time to work on your entry for this challenge. If you want me to extend the deadline later on, I'll leave the option and ask when the time comes for me to ask you guys if you want to extend the deadline or not.

It's been a while since I shared anything new on this account. So, I figured I start by sharing some of the new character sketches that I've made which is quite a bundle since I not only did some that feature my main group of characters but some of them are of the co-stars including the antagonists.

I'll start by featuring the main group who are known as The Pajama Party.

Some of these sketches are organized in a few sets so some of them are supposed to be part of a pack like the Wicked Final Forms, Doppelgangers, Chibis, Footsouls, and a couple of them inspired by some ideas a few of my friends created with them. While I haven't been able to complete a lot of the artwork I have this year, I am doing my best to draw for this story project and hopefully, I can share something new in color at some point in time, maybe this month or at the start of next year. It's hard to say when because I have a lot to do and have to consider my time carefully so that I don't miss out on other things that are personal or just other activities that I can do with others.
