Daniel's Ending

Upon facing Alexander in the Orb Chamber and toppling the towers that surround the opening portal, Daniel and Alexander are immediately surrounded by the residue of the Shadow. Alexander is consumed by the shadow, being killed by the beast and trapped within eternal darkness. Daniel is not met with the same fate, the fleshy residue around him no longer inflicting harm. The shadow is pleased at Daniel's actions, admiring his commitment and determination to make it all the way through Brennenburg and complete the task he set out to do, stop Alexander. In doing so, Daniel also prevented the orb's powers from being misused any further, much to the appeasement of the Shadow. Daniel escapes Brennenburg with a clean slate of redemption, the quelled shadow awaiting his safe departure before destroying the stone towers of the castle.
