Description
In 2008, I worked as a researcher on the History Channel series, The Universe. The episode, "Alien Faces" was a program about the possible xenobiology on distant exoplanets, and in addition to my researcher duties, I was also able to develop concept art for possible alien species that might inhabit these alien worlds. David Aguilar was one of the primary experts on the episode, and gave detailed descriptions about a few fictional, but theoretically plausible exoplanets, and the lifeforms that one might imagine evolving there.
This was one of the concept sheets I drew based on his alien descriptions, which the graphics department later adapted into 3-D animation.

I remember being so curious about these guys since the episode gave them zero focus (which was odd to me because like, why even mention them if you're just gonna skip out on them?)
The fact we never even got to see them was such a big mystery to me, and I wondered what sort of aquatic creature might evolve on a desert world. I also remember doing my best to get a closer look at the brief shot we were given and thinking I saw a tentacle or something coming out of the water xD
Nice to finally get to learn about them!
