Description
Received Mystic today only to be greeted not by a beautiful female, but a bold tom and boy is he BIG. I had to doublecheck and make sure he wasn't a lynx for a second due to his size.
Mystic hails from the Mystic Mountain range in Idaho where he was caught in a coyote trap, snapping his neck and killing him instantly. Some rubs on his back suggest he was a good territorial tom. Although some rubs are slips from not getting skinned quickly. The trapper didn't wish for such a feline to go to waste and took him to the seller of which I received him from.
His deep grays and silky blacks really have his white chest stand out. His female counterpart (of whom I bought from a taxidermist, her origins are unknown to me but the taxidermist is a trustworthy friend of mine) is so petite in comparison. I believe she comes from more of the midwest US.
Those claws on Mystic could deal some severe damage, they size up evenly with some lynx claws I have and that short tail is beyond adorable.
I was surprised to see that his lips and eyelid had been split, ears have yet to be split, suggesting he could very much be mountable. I was weighing the possibility of making him into a spook but after seeing that face, I could not. I will await for the proper pelt to come along for that slot to be filled.
Mystic and the other bobcat, just like all of my pelts, are handled with care and are used for artistic reference and demonstration. Neither were killed by me nor at my request.
