Stepping Into Our Tomorrow

Hey, you didn't think I'd forget today was the one-year anniversary of Smash Ultimate, did you? While I've only had the game since Christmas 2018, it's the Switch game I've played the longest (though most of that is probably due to beating "World of Light" twice). While I prefer Sm4sh, I do like getting to have all my favorite characters in a game I can play at home or on the go.
Due to the massive character roster, I'm still trying to figure out the order of characters I like. With the other games, the smaller rosters meant I didn't have nearly as many characters I enjoy playing as so I could more easily sort them. With Ultimate, I enjoy playing as over half the cast to varying degrees. I do, however, know my top 4 favorite characters: Rosalina, Simon, Palutena, and Pit (maybe not exactly in that order). Out of all 80+ characters, they are the four characters I'm most-eager to play as. So to celebrate the game's anniversary, I decided to draw the four of them getting ready for a fight. Starting with each of them in their respective home stage, they're getting their weapons ready, heading out to the Battlefield, and they're ready to face off against any force that comes their way!
I've also felt that the game's main theme, "Lifelight," would make for a good "preparing to battle" song. For awhile, I've had the idea to draw a large cast of my favorite characters singing the song as they prepare for battle. While I may visit that idea later on, I at least wanted to do a smaller-scale version of the idea for now. Also, this took a long time to draw, due to all the references I had to pull up.
