February 2011 last week I got Geronimo back from the fireplace and it didn't work out as good as I had hoped. It was a baked accidentally on ceramic temperature of 1200°C which was too much. I wanted it to be baked at a maximum of 1000°C. During baking a sculpture will shrink, the higher the temperature the more pressure on the sculpture and the more it will shrink. This can cause cracks. And so on the line were I sliced it into two halves so I could hollow it out, it cracket along that line at the base of the shoulder. I can still fix that. More problematic however is that due to the high firing temperature the final result is much harder...
