Owen Richards

Take a moment to say hello to my new OC, Owen Richards. He's one of the main characters for a new series I'm working on called "Flip-Flopped". It will be about how the characters learn from the mistakes they make. I've been waiting to show him and the other characters for my project to you for quite a while, and I'm happy that I finally have a chance to do so. 

Now, without further ado, here's some information about Owen. 


Full Name: Owen Christopher Richards

Nicknames: O-Zone, Owenator

Gender: Male

Theoretical Voice: Jeremy Shada (using the same voice as Finn from Adventure Time)

Likes: Making friends, staying positive, having fun, making the most of every day, wearing flip-flops, surfing, volleyball, getting attention, being with his friends, cute girls, challenges, trying new things, pranking people, relaxing, helping others, his girlfriend Katie

Background and personality: 

Owen was born in Oahu, Hawaii, and moved to California when he was seven years old. He currently resides in Denver, Colorado on Baker Street with his single father and adoptive younger sister, and lives next door to his girlfriend Katie Miles. 

Owen is an optimistic, outgoing, and carefree boy with a happy-go-lucky attitude that is appreciated by his friends one way or another. Owen is also very kind-hearted and compassionate. He is friendly toward others, rarely holds grudges, and is very non-discriminatory, not treating anyone with prejudice and being unable to stay mad at someone for very long. He is extremely fun-loving, believing that life is short and people should enjoy it while it lasts. Owen's big heart doesn't exclude even the more reserved. However, if he's given enough motivation, he won't hesitate to pay people back for their misdeeds. His upbeat personality always puts others in a good mood, and people can count on him to have their backs. His caring way automatically clicks with Katie, which is how the two of them developed a steady relationship with each other. Owen is also great at motivating people and cares deeply for his friends. Despite usually being upbeat and enthusiastic, Owen also has a mature, understanding side. He is mindful towards more shy or reserved types (especially Katie) and will always be there to comfort them should they need it. He is also a very fast learner and shows that when he puts his mind to things, he has some skill. He refuses to give up his principles, no matter what, and through his spirit and determination, he always reaches his goals, especially when it's anything he sets his mind to. 

Notes:

• Owen previously resided in a beachside city in California called Sandborough, which is a fictional town inspired by real-life seaside towns in California, such as Coronado, Malibu, Oxnard, Oceanside, Santa Monica, and Venice. 
• While he doesn't talk about it in public for obvious reasons, Owen has confessed privately to girls he has a crush on that he is extremely ticklish on his feet, especially his toes. He actually enjoys being tickled by a pretty girl, so he sometimes allows Katie to tickle him whenever they have some alone time together, and he really loves it when she tickles his toes. Having them played with makes the boy giggle, grin and enjoy.

• Does Not Like Shoes: Somewhat downplayed. He almost always wears open-toe footwear, either flip-flops or sandals (but more often flip-flops), which reflect his carefree nature, as well as the fact that he grew up close to the sea. He enjoys wearing them because they give him freedom and distill him down to his carefree essence, not to mention he likes being able to wiggle his toes around every now and then. He will only wear closed-toe shoes if he absolutely has to, and occasionally trades his flip-flops for a pair of dark blue low-top slip-on sneakers.
