Faust was born and raised as the only son of an aristocratic family. Even though he was looked down upon by the rest of his family for being born without the traditional goat legs that ran in his family, he had a happy childhood. However, it soon became apparent that he couldn't keep up with his more pure bred cousins and later even his own parents started ignoring him. His only consolation was his uncle, who was actually known as the "black sheep" of the family, and was the one who taught Faust how to use guns and in the end, gave Faust his guns before he fell sick and died.

Afterwards, he began rebelling, small things at first such as pranks, and eventually, he ran away from home; however, he was only free for 3 days before he was caught and returned. Even though his family attempted to keep him locked up in his home, he kept getting free somehow and running away, still never actually making it that far. In the end, his parents grew tired of catching him each time he ran away, and just didn't try the next time he vanished, at 17. They thought that since he grew up isolated and away from the horrors of the real world, he would come crawling back to them eventually. However, while not prepared for the rest of the world, book smarts did not translate to street smarts, Faust did somehow make it in the streets, mostly because of blind luck and helpful citizens. He never entirely lost his naive outlook on life, though, and even now is somewhat clueless to the happenings of society outside of the elite.
