I’ve had a handful of notes or DMs ask variations on the same question and then I usually say “I’ll make a journal about it since it’s a lot to answer” and then I don’t. So here it is. How do you make with the comics and the ideas? How the planning and brainstorm? What is process? Part 1: How make ideas happen? Idea making is weird. I don’t know if anyone sits down and says “Alright time to make a story idea happen”. When it comes to the very basic, initial premise for a story, mine all start very simple. Usually triggered by a phrase or a certain imagery or action. It turns out, I get a lot of mine randomly while driving. I had the idea for DoD while driving home after a hurricane and seeing all of the upturned trees with their roots exposed. I had the idea for RHR while driving to a friend’s house after binging on a bunch of Greek Mythology. When I start developing an idea, I keep a very basic idea in mind.
