Description
Stego is a biomechanical stegosaurus-like creature with solar panels on its back for absorbing sunlight. This is one of my new favourite MOCs! While it may be the third gunmetal-and-silver quadruped that I've made, I think I've got it right this time.
The MOC itself is pretty half-and-half between Hero Factory and Bionicle. I ensured that Stego's belly was purely the newer, darker shade of silver, and I avoided using black when I had the piece in grey. There is also a line of silver spikes on either side of the main panels; you can't see them terribly well in these photos, I realise, so here's another view: sta.sh/01n605kcr3yq
I admit that there are some anatomical inconsistencies between Stego and actual stegosauruses. Stegosauruses tend to have more arched backs, have two lines of plates instead of one, and have a far larger tail than Stego here. My response is that, firstly, there is a lot of anatomy variation between stegosaurus species, and secondly, I think that these proportions look more visually appealing even if they're incorrect. I doubt I'd have enough pieces to create an arched back and larger tail while maintaining the quality anyway. I hope you like it!

Makes me think of the creatures they had on Bota Magna in one of the story serials, cool design.
