~I am NOT interested in NFTs~
Hello, I'm a bohemian/hipster/environmentalist type who loves to dive into literature and impressionistic means of traditional art! Let me tell you story when I first started painting 8 years ago....
My very first painting is my "Juicy Fruit" deviation posting, and I created that one through watercolor and made many "mistakes" that I now view as blessings. It was on regular printer paper because that was all that was available since, back then, I had no prior experience. I also used "child's" quality watercolors and one paintbrush that I found in my little's sister room. This was all freehand. Before I painted this, I just wanted to do something light-hearted and paint something with my sister related to the cartoon, SpongeBob. After the painting was done, it inspired me to keep painting as the strong emotion I was able to express through my artwork was prevalent, with my sister there to emotionally bond with, was all worth it to me. That's how I started painting.
I now enjoy painting other themes in a impressionistic/expressionistic way as I love primary colors and blending them together. I also love to express with free brush strokes. My go-to is landscapes, seascapes, anything with nature, cityscapes, skyscapes, tropical, ocean, beach, etc with acrylics on canvas; rarely watercolor. I prefer acrylics because the fact that I have to act fast due to its fast-drying nature, is a great challenge for me and I like that.
I never stop yearning for art. It's a basic necessity for myself and my well-being.
I work as a recreational therapist; we are in charge of persuading leisure interests in a patient-centered approach, to holistically help get to where patients need to be to better their well-being. We have evidence-based practices in video games, art, outdoor recreation, ring toss, board games, journaling, etc. The best part about my job is this: having fun. I do something that I love that's rewarding, and I get to engage in art not only to help heal others, but to also help heal myself.
I'm just now experimenting with adding other mediums into my acrylic creations like gel/glitter pens to make lines more refined and pretty. Like I said, my art style is impressionism/expressionism as I love to paint meaningful creations in beautiful colors. My main inspirations now are emotions I receive randomly throughout life, and I like to express that on canvas through the beauty of nature or related scenes. What's usually in my mind is nature because I am often in tune with it as nature brings me peace, harmony, and tranquility. I have been painting and giving my paintings as gifts to my family and close friends.. I am self-taught except for two paint and sip "classes" that I took. I personally don't like painting classes as I don't prefer others "telling me how to paint". I like to teach myself and make new discoveries along the way because it is more fun, enjoyable, and therapeutic for me. I use free hand or very little sketches when I begin my paintings. I mainly create basic outlines on my canvases with chalk and/or pencils to get a base and let the paintbrush flow and take over.
I'm also very much into expressing myself through literature in the forms of rhyming/nonrhyming poetry, journals, and narratives. My father is my main inspiration in this form of art expression.
Enjoy your time here and happy "arting"!!!!
