Naomi is the main character of my *work in process* One Question. She plays softball. She's just graduated high school. She's (mysteriously??) engaged. She really wants to go camping. She loves Colorado. You can find her soon-to-be-best-friend (?) Phi back in my gallery, from two years ago because I can't finish anything.
Watercolor is still a mystery to me?? This is mostly watercolor, but I did a lot of digital editing too. The colors may have gotten too intense. I also drew this full-body but it gets wonky after the elbow so let's just
When I saw her in the thumb, at first I thought she was a princess of some sort! Imagine my surprise in finding out she wasn’t. Watercolours can be quite difficult! You mention the colours were too intense, something that I always do there is to simply add more water. Just make sure you use proper watercolour paper, that will also help the colours flow better through the portions your painting, giving it that true watercolour feeling. When I first learned watercolour, I didn’t want to use too much water in fear of losing control of the paint, but nowadays I tell people: more water! More water! Giving the paint control is how you create the best pieces. Keep up the good work, and keep practicing!
