It's not the atomic breath. This time it's atomizing.
The beam is comprised of accelerated particles and generates auroras as a side effect of ionizing the air around it. This is also the case for the plates when charging.
The Atomizing beam is capable of pushing over monsters and shredding buildings. Ships like the Gotengo are only capable of withstanding it due to a artificial replication of the shields kaiju generate.

Not entirely sure if you're still active... but I've loved this idea for many years now, and I've always wondered what biological structures Godzilla would have to make an atomizing ray. Some kind of cyclotron made of stratified tissue?
