I live in the South West of Western Australia, a very beautiful and inspiring part of the world.
I started out in photography with children's fantasy portraits in 1998. It was a rewarding business, but when it became time to move on, I did!
I have always been an artistic person, having attended art school and painted for several years (in my younger days). Through my interest in photography and my love of the landscape, I could see what might be possible through the use of digital photography.
Freedom from the darkroom! And the exciting prospect of being able to manipulate images to achieve the look I wanted. This didn't happen overnight! It took years of trying different ideas, looking at what other photographers were doing and learning about equipment and post processing.
At first I wanted to produce images to emulate the landscape photographers I admire. You will find, however, that as you progress, your own style will emerge. The learning never stops and there are always new techniques and ideas to explore. I truly feel that I have only just scraped the surface and have a long way to go in this exciting journey!
